Seoul National Cemetery is one of the spring flower attractions in Seoul. Yellow forsythia flowers, light pink weeping cherry blossoms, and dark pink azalea flowers hold a beautiful party among peaceful graveyards. Spring flowers, which usually start blooming in March, are in full bloom around April. Forsythia flower paths continue on both sides of Hyeonchungcheon surrounded by bright yellow spring light, and weeping cherry tree branches sway in the spring breeze, adding to the taste. The azalea flower parade surrounding the memorial site is also a springtime scene not to be missed. The flower road leading to the National Cemetery is a flower road with another meaning formed by the spirit of sacrifice of those who devoted themselves to the country. While enjoying the mood of spring, let’s not forget to give thanks to the martyrdoms and spirits of the patriots. Along with the noble spirit that dwells here, the spring of the Cemetery shines more brilliantly. Near the Seoul National Cemetery, there is Hyosajeong, a symbol of filial piety in the Joseon Dynasty. It boasts an outstanding view among the pavilions built along the Han River, and the view and night view of the Han River and the city center are fascinating. Yangnyeongdaegun Ije Grave Station (Seoul Tangible Cultural Property No. 11) is also a good place to stroll on a spring day. You can see a rubbing of the signboard of Sungnyemun Gate written by the famous calligrapher Yangnyeongdaegun and a stone engraved with ‘Hujeokbyeokbu’ written in cursive. Dalmasa, which has a panoramic view of the city of Seoul, also encourages spring outings.
