Namhansanseong Fortress served as a defense bastion until the Joseon Dynasty. The castle built along the rugged terrain is 11.7km long (main castle 9km, outer castle 2.7km). Today, Namhansanseong Fortress is loved as a one-day walking tour by citizens of the metropolitan area because of its natural ecological environment. If it snows in midwinter, it is a great place to enjoy trekking while appreciating the snowflakes. Five courses have been developed for the Namhansanseong Fortress tour, ranging from the shortest distance of 2.9km (takes 1 hour) to the longest distance of 7.7km (takes 3 hours and 20 minutes), so travelers can choose according to their physical strength and free time. Before or after walking, it is good to stop by the Namhansanseong History Museum to learn about the history of Namhansanseong. You can enjoy a fruitful trip by visiting Gyeongancheon Wetland Ecological Park, Gwangju Ceramic Museum, and Bunwon White Porcelain Museum.
