551-2 Jipyeong-ri, Jipyeong-myeon, Yangpyeong-gun, Gyeonggi-do

Yangpyeong-gun is the place where the Bukhangang River and the Namhan River meet. Since it is a place with clean water, there is no doubt that there is no good makgeolli brewery. There is Jipyeong Brewery, which produces Jipyeong Makgeolli in Jipyeong-myeon. Founded in 1925, the history of makgeolli continues to this day. The brewery was built during the Japanese colonial period, but Jipyong Brewery does not want to register it as a modern cultural heritage. If you go inside, you will find the final room where the most important bacteria for producing makgeolli is cultivated, a ripening room where alcohol is matured, and an exhibition room showing the history of Jipyong brewing. There are many places to visit with a glass of Jipyeong Makgeolli. In addition to traditional cultural sites such as Yongmunsa Temple and Sanasa Temple, Hwangsunwon Literature Museum, Batanggol Art Center, and Gallery Wa await travelers. Rail bikes and Gudun Station, a simple station of memories, are also Yangpyeong’s pride.
