The road to Goseong Unification Observatory is the road of peace and hope. In the past, people came and went to see Mt. Geumgang, and recently, separated families passed by to go to Mt. Geumgang, the place of reunion. The Unification Observatory was established in 1984 at the eastern end of the Armistice Line and 10km north of the Civilian Access Control Line. From here, you can see Mt. Geumgang and Haegeumgang at a glance. The road leading to Mt. Kumgang is also clear. A statue of the Virgin Mary wishing for peace and unification and Maitreya Buddha of Unification stood next to the Unification Observatory. When the Sunrise Unification Observation Tower under construction is completed, you can see Mt. Geumgang from a higher place. The DMZ Museum on the way to and from the Unification Observatory is full of exhibits on the themes of the outbreak of the Korean War, the birth of the DMZ, and the surrounding ecosystem. In Hwajinpo, the villas of the most powerful people in the South and North are facing each other, and traces of Ambassador Samyeong, who trained monks for the country during the Japanese invasion of Korea in 1592, are left in Sokgeonbongsa Temple in the Baekdudaegan Mountains. If you are interested in literature, you can stop by Kim Hain Art Hall, run by the author of the novel 《Scent of Chrysanthemum》.
