There is a saying that ‘Baengnyeongdo is eaten and left over, Daecheongdo is dirty and left over, and Socheongdo is used and left over’. Baengnyeongdo has wide rice fields, so rice is surplus, Daecheongdo has high mountains and thick forests, so there is a lot of firewood, and Socheongdo is a golden fishing ground, so money is spent and surplus. Compared to other islands, Daecheongdo has a high mountain and a wide beach, so the scenery is outstanding. The representative attraction is Seopungbath, which refers to a rock that blocks the west wind. It is a grateful existence that has blocked the fierce winds that blow to the island from 1 billion years ago when Daecheongdo Island was created. Seopoongbaji trekking, which takes about 1 hour and 30 minutes, can be easily walked by anyone. If it is not enough to walk only in Seopoongbaji, let’s enjoy a thrilling trek by connecting Samgaksan Mountain. From the summit of Samgaksan Mountain, 343m above sea level, you can see every corner of Daecheongdo Island, Socheongdo Island, Baengnyeongdo Island, and even the northern lands. The coastal sand dunes of Okjuk-dong remind you of a desert. There is a Bactrian Camel sculpture in the middle of the sand dunes, making it look like the Gobi Desert. Nongyeo Beach is a geological attraction that Daecheongdo Island is proud of, and there are unusual rocks scattered along the coast, including annual tree-shaped rocks that look like old trees. Another pride of Nongyeo Beach is the largest pool in Korea. If you walk barefoot on the grass with wave patterns, you can feel the mystery of nature.
