Palmido Lighthouse is the first lighthouse to light up in Korea. It was built in April 1903 and first lit on June 1 of the same year. It takes about 45 minutes to reach Palmido Island by boat from the Incheon Port Coastal Passenger Terminal. It takes about 10 minutes from the marina to the top of the lighthouse. There are two lighthouses at the top of the island, and the small one on the left is the ‘original’ Palmido Lighthouse. Behind the old lighthouse is the new lighthouse. The new lighthouse has a diorama theater that reproduces the situation at the time of the recapture of the Palmido Lighthouse and the Incheon Landing Operation, and an observatory where you can see Silmido, Muuido, and Yeongjongdo. It would be nice to take a look around the island along the trail through the dense birch forest. Taking an early autumn trip to the Incheon Complex Fish Market, Gaehangjang Cultural District, and Dapdong Cathedral located in front of Yeonan Pier is a way to fully enjoy Palmido Lighthouse.
