There is a place with a different taste under the moonlight. Suwon Hwaseong Temporary Palace (Historic Site No. 478) is more beautiful at night than during the day. Under the theme of ‘Moonlight Talk’, it is also open at night so that you can enjoy the atmosphere of a quiet palace. The soft lighting creates a fairytale-like atmosphere, and Bongsudang, where soft light dimmers in the interior, feels mysterious. In front of Naknamheon, there is a ‘Moon Rabbit Shelter’ that embodies a bright full moon. In the vicinity of the maze, which is nestled in the forest, you can see the glitzy city lights along with the neat roof of the palace. Hwaryeongjeon (Historic Site No. 115) also shines more at night. Efforts were put into lighting and music to highlight the simple but elegant building. Hwaseong Temporary Palace is open at night from 6:00 pm to 9:30 pm until October 30 (closed on Mondays and Tuesdays), and you can visit it with an entrance fee to Hwaseong Temporary Palace (adults 1,500 won, teenagers 1,000 won, children 700 won). Suwon Hwaseong Fortress (Historic Site No. 3) also transforms splendidly at night. The 5.5km-long fortress that surrounds the city center is illuminated, making it even more magnificent. The area around Banghwasuryujeong and Yongyeon is a great place for a night out. Standing with your back to Hwaseong Temporary Palace, there is a charming workshop street on the right and the birthplace of Na Hye-seok on the left, so it is good to look around together. Don’t miss Suwon Whole Chicken Street across from the Hwaseong Temporary Palace. There are shops that have been famous for a long time, such as Yongseong Fried Chicken, Jinmi Fried Chicken, and Nammun Fried Chicken, so you can enjoy crispy fried chicken and a cheerful atmosphere whenever you visit.
