Shin Hae-chul Street was built around Shin Hae-chul’s studio in Bundang, Seongnam-si, Gyeonggi-do. It is a place made by collecting traces and hearts of Seongnam City and fans to remember him, and it continues for about 160m around the statue of Shin Hae-cheol sitting holding a microphone. People from all walks of life, including singer Insouni (“Shin Hae-chul, I miss you. I will remember you roaring on stage and keep them in my heart. My friend who will remain by our side forever through music…”) Commemorative writings are on the street, and the lyrics he wrote are also engraved on wooden signs. His traces are still vivid in ‘Shin Haechul Studio’, where he wrote lyrics and composed songs. Looking at the bookshelves filled with books from various fields, the stage costumes he wore, and the piano he used to compose, it seems like he would open the door and enter, saying, “Now, I need to record.” In Yuldong Park, which is close to Sinhaecheol Street, there is an elegant promenade along the lake. The Book Theme Park located within the park is a good place to spend a good time reading books. The Seongnam Cube Art Museum, which introduces promising domestic and foreign writers, and the Hyundai Children’s Book Art Museum, which is the first in Korea to be decorated with a book theme, are cultural spaces not to be missed.
