Yeoncheon’s Civilian Control Zone (Civil Control Line) is the best place to enjoy natural ecology and security tourism. Near the confluence of the Imjin River and the Hantangang River, there is a riverside columnar joint that can be seen from inland. Columnar joints with a height of 40m and a length of 1.5km are trekking and you can enjoy the vertical cliffs that unfold like a folding screen. After it rains, dozens of waterfalls form on the cliffs and pour out large streams of water. At the Ferry Village, take a tractor and take a tour of nature within the Civilian Control Line where people are rare. Typhoon Observatory and Victory OP are places where you can feel the tension of the armistice line that divides the two Koreas. At Shintan-ri Station, where the train on the Gyeongwon Line stopped running to the north, a sign saying, “The iron horse wants to run” speaks of the pain of division. Standing on the top of Mt. Godae, 832m above sea level, you can see the Cheorwon Plain and the northern land.
