Dreaming of a hanok trip at the threshold of winter is because of memories and longing for warmth. Yeongwol Jogyeondang and Ugujeong House are warm traditional hanoks worth visiting in winter. The two old houses, which are over 100 years old, encourage travel with different personalities. Jogyeon-dang (Kim Jong-gil’s house) in Jucheon-myeon is a hanok in which the old and the new are in harmony. The anchae is the only space in Jogyeondang where the old look is preserved, and the newly renovated sarangchae welcomes visitors with a neat appearance. At Jogyeondang, you can listen to the story of the hanok told by the husband-in-law here or participate in a tea ceremony. Ugujeong House in Nam-myeon is a hanok that retains the sentiment of a traditional country house. The room is simple with the main house, geonneonbang, and sarangbang. All of these rooms are lit with firewood, and when you open the door to the window attached to the veranda, a cozy rural scene unfolds. Jogyeondang and Ugujeong’s house were registered as Gangwon-do’s cultural heritage.
