Yeongwol is the representative town of the museum. In the early 2000s, museums began to open one by one, and soon there were about 20 of them. A trip to Yeongwol can be enriched by just visiting three or four museums. Among them, the Joseon Folk Painting Museum, which is the eldest of the Yeongwol Regional Museums, has about 3,000 pieces of folk paintings from the Joseon Dynasty, and about 300 pieces, including about 100 pieces of modern folk paintings, are on permanent display. ‘Jakhodo’ and ‘Sipjangsaengdo’ contain our unique emotions and stories. In the museum, you can draw folk paintings on woodblocks and print prints, and on the second floor, there is a ‘Chunhwa Exhibition Hall’ that only adults can enter. In Yeongwol, the Museum of Indian Art and the Yeongwol Media Journalist Museum recently opened, and the museum rush continues. Along with the museum, a two-killing tour with one stone is available in Yeongwol, which includes rich natural scenery and cultural relics.
