Korean Folk Village and Everland, which followed the memories and brought new generation sensibility
The Korean Folk Village and Everland in Yongin, Gyeonggi-do are regular school trip destinations, giving many people memories. By wrapping tradition with modern sensibility, the old space approaches in a different way. The Korean Folk Village invigorates the space with characters from the Joseon Dynasty that communicate directly with visitors. A folk parade was also added. Along with the nightly opening, a multimedia performance will be presented. Tickets for the Korean Folk Village are 32,000 won for adults and teenagers and 26,000 won for children (including rides). Everland also added a new generation sensibility to memories. American Adventure’s ‘Rocksville’, which has a motif of the United States in the 1950s and 1960s, is popular. This is the place where BTS filmed the music video for their hit song ‘Dynamite’, and many generations enjoy it together. Everland’s representative garden ‘Four Seasons Garden’ and merry-go-round ‘Royal Jubilee Carousel’ are photo spots. When the colorful night parade begins, cheers come out. Everland entrance fees vary depending on the date and time. There is Nam June Paik Art Center in Yongin. Baroque Nam June Paik, a special exhibition celebrating the 90th anniversary of the birth of Nam June Paik, a pioneer of media art, runs until January 24, 2023. Let’s visit the House of Ucchin Jang (Nationally Registered Cultural Property) and Yongin Hyanggyo (Gyeonggi Cultural Heritage), an educational institution during the Joseon Dynasty, where you can feel the breath of painter Ucchin Chang. A trip to reminisce and recharge with newness is complete.
