The Korea Reading Festival, the largest reading culture festival in Korea, will be held in Goyang in 2023. About 100 various programs in the fields of reading, publishing, and culture will be operated throughout the year in six areas, including lectures, experiences, exhibitions, and performances. Beginning with the proclamation ceremony of the ‘City of Books’ on March 22nd, a participatory reading program that activates the local reading culture in cooperation with organizations related to reading, publishing, libraries, and bookstores is carried out throughout the year, and is held for three days from September 1st to 3rd. Various and differentiated reading culture events such as performances, exhibitions, experiences, and academic forums related to books will be presented in the Ilsan Lake Park area in Goyang City. In Goyang City, which has a rich reading infrastructure, we want to create a festival where local related organizations and various classes can communicate and enjoy together through books by encouraging the active participation of people who love books.
