General Choi Yeong, a great general of the late Goryeo Dynasty who kept his loyalty until the end of Hongseong; Seong Sam-mun, who made a name for himself in the world with his firm fidelity against injustice; Master Han Yong-un, one of the 33 national representatives who resisted Japanese imperialism; It is the birthplace of Han Seong-jun, a master of Joseon dance and the main stream of Korean dance, and Lee Ungno, a modern artist who is more famous abroad.
