Hanok Gangneung Seongyojang where history and tradition breathe

Local people
431 Unjeong-dong, Gangneung-si, Gangwon-do

Gangneung Seongyojang is not only in Gangwon-do, but it is the best-preserved original house among the traditional hanoks in this land. It is the largest house in Korea with more than 100 rooms, including Anchae, Dongbyeoldang, Seobyeoldang, Yeolhwadang, and Hwarraejeong. Behind the house, old pine trees that are likely to be hundreds of years old form a thick forest, and the ugliness of the old house, lifted up lightly as if flying through the long corridor, represents the history. Every corner of the house exudes nostalgia, and even without special decorations, the scent emanating from the history of the house is attractive enough. Seongyojang maintains the old charm of a hanok while providing convenience facilities such as a kitchen, shower, and toilet so that you can experience a hanok as comfortably as at home.
