Gwangmyeong Cave, located in Mt. Gahak, is a landmark of Gwangmyeong City and a popular tourist attraction in the ‘2021-2022 Korea Tourism 100’. Not only does it contain inexhaustible stories in the history of the mine for more than 100 years, but it is also suitable as a cultural and artistic space to enjoy with your family. When you enter the cave, you will pass through the enchanting wormhole square, the space of light embroidered with colorful light emitting diode (LED) lights, the Cave Arts Center where you can enjoy the media façade, and the cave Aqua World where various fish are raised using the first-class bedrock water of Gwangmyeong Cave. Go down to the 1st underground level and explore the underground world of caves, and the cave exploration ends at Gwangmyeong Wine Cave. The Mineral Exhibition Experience Center outside offers a variety of experiences that children will enjoy. If you follow the stairs to the right of the entrance of Gwangmyeong Cave and go up to the cave observatory ‘Sky View’, you can see a beautiful sunset in the west. At the Gwangmyeong Upcycle Art Center next door to Gwangmyeong Cave, a special exhibition using waste resources left by the COVID-19 pandemic will be held until December 31st. Deoksansan Suspension Bridge is the second ‘Y-shaped’ suspension bridge opened in Korea after Udusan Mountain in Geochang, Gyeongsangnam-do. It is not far from the entrance of Mt. Dodeok and the mountain slope is gentle, so it is worth going for a walk.
