Since ancient times, Hoengseong has had a large daily temperature difference and it was easy to obtain rice straw as paddy farming developed, so Korean cattle breeding was prevalent. There are many brands of Korean beef with their local names all over the country, but among them, Hoengseong Hanwoo is famous. Every year in Hoengseong, the Hanwoo Festival is held during the season when cosmos covers the fields. This year, from October 17th to the 21st, the Hanwoo Festival will be held in the Seomgang Beach area of Hoengseong-eup for five days. During this period, travelers can enjoy a variety of traditional games, such as the Korean cattle rodeo game, feeding cattle, and throwing koture, and can taste quality Korean beef at a lower price than usual. Enjoy the festival, walk along the path along Hoengseong Lake, or visit the Cheongtaesan Natural Recreation Forest, Soopchewon, and the birch forest at the museum to fully feel the atmosphere of autumn.
