The Daegu National Meteorological Science Museum is a place where the exciting meeting of weather and science is realized. It is fun to see, feel and experience the weather. The Meteorological Science Museum is divided into three thematic halls. In Exhibition Hall 1, ‘Encounter with the Weather’, the ‘Earth ON’ model, which observes the world’s weather changes with artificial satellites, is unique. You can experience the strong wind and see the old barometer and hygrometer. The weather experience will be held in earnest at Exhibition Hall 2, ‘Science in the Weather’. Lie down on the cloud sofa and watch the changes of the four seasons in three dimensions, and create a moving picture weather with clouds, sun, and wind models. There is also a meteorological expedition to find out the cause of global warming and experience a model hot air balloon. In the newly decorated exhibition hall 3, ‘Science of Forecasting’, you can take a look at the weather supercomputer and challenge yourself to be a weather caster. The admission fee is 2,000 won for adults and 1,000 won for teenagers and children. It is open from 10:00 am to 5:30 pm (closed on Mondays, January 1, and national holidays), and operates on a reservation basis. After leaving the Meteorological Science Museum, the Geumhogang promenade leads to Mangwudang Park, which commemorates General Kwak Jae-woo. You can tour Ayang Railroad, which was reborn as a resting place for citizens from the old Daegu Line railroad bridge, Mural Alley of Happy Village, Daegu-gu Dongchon Station (Nationally Registered Cultural Property), which is used as a small library. Otgol Village, which boasts a 400-year-old tradition, boasts a fine appearance of 20 old houses and old walls.
