Samcheok-si, Gangwon-do has many beautiful ports. The best among them is the sea of Jangho-ri. There is a canyon of the sea created by rocks rising all over the place. About 10 rocks are crossed and the shape of the waterway is like a canyon. The best way to enjoy the sea is through water sports such as transparent canoes, snorkeling, and sea rafting. You can even feel the exotic mood when you go between the rocks in a canoe. Another advantage of the village is that you can taste seafood caught by haenyeo directly from the sea. There is a 5.4km-long Ocean Rail Bike from Jangho-ri to Yonghwa-ri to Gungchon-ri, and Haesindang Park where you can learn about Samcheok’s fishing village folk culture. After visiting Daegeum Cave and Hwanseon Cave, where you can see the true nature of the cave city of Samcheok, visit Dogye Glass Village, where you can see the splendid transformation of waste ore excavated from coal mines, and enjoy a glass craft experience.
