Sokcho is now popular as a Newtro travel destination. The sea, which has been opened for the first time in decades, is untouched by nature, and the shipyard that used to make wooden ships serves a cup of coffee to heal the creaking mind instead of repairing the ship. It is an emotional prescription that calmly comforts the weariness of the speed era that changes day by day. The place that revealed the dazzling unexplored scenery after 65 years is Oeongchi Badahyanggiro. A fragrant promenade was created along Oeongchi Beach, a hill that looks like a jar protruding into the sea. Walking along the indigo-colored East Sea as a companion, you can encounter a landscape that becomes the main character of a drama simply by pressing the shutter. Chilsung Shipyard, which made wooden ships for the third generation, has been transformed into a cafe. The yard where boats used to come and go is a good place to drink ordered coffee while looking at the lake. A bowl of warm udon noodles awaits you when you enter a small alleyway, and the old bookstore, which has been around for half a century, still recommends relaxing with beautiful books.
