The Gwacheon Hanmadang Festival is a performing arts festival decorated with officially selected domestic and foreign works centered on madang plays, street plays, and open-air plays, as well as free entries. It is promoting international cultural exchange by actively accepting works in various fields such as madang plays, street plays, and outdoor plays from the East and the West while inheriting and developing the plays of the traditional performance style unique to our nation in a more original way. Anyone who is not an artist but a general citizen can enjoy various cultures without any burden, satisfying the cultural needs of modern society. Six to seven performances are held every day, including overseas invitation performances, domestic invitation performances, and special performances, providing a wealth of attractions. In particular, performances by invited theater groups from overseas are a good opportunity to experience the performance styles of Madanggeuk in various countries around the world. All performances except for a few performances are free, and it is a great advantage that you can enjoy it outdoors with your family. Street art removes the barriers that separate life and art, and provides an opportunity for everyday audiences to experience artistic fantasy and shock. Through the Gwacheon Hanmadang Festival, the center of street art in Korea, artists show unstoppable imagination and the audience has an opportunity to ‘leave everyday life and look at everyday life’ through the products of their imagination. The 14th Gwacheon Hanmadang Festival will be held for five days, starting on September 29th and ending on October 3rd. In this performance, about 30 works from home and abroad will be presented at the Civic Center and Central Park.
