Mureung Valley in Donghae City is designated as Gangwon-do National Tourist Site No. The highlight of Mureung Valley is the double waterfall located upstream. The trekking course of about 3 km from the ticket office is gentle and flat. There is no time to get bored as the overhead tree tunnel blocks the scorching sun, and the ever-changing scenery such as Mureung Rock, Samhwasa Temple, Haksodae, and Seonnyeotang are connected. It rises slowly for about an hour and when you stand in front of a coolly pouring waterfall, the sweat on your forehead disappears and you get goosebumps on your forearms. The appearance of the double width is overwhelming. The waterfall on the left cascades through the stair-shaped rocks, while the waterfall on the right cascades down at once, creating an exquisite duet. Donghae City has many beaches such as Mangsang, Daejin, and Chuam where you can enjoy swimming, and there are many things to see, such as Bukpyeong 5-Day Market, which is unique to traditional markets, and Cheongok Cave, which is the only one in the city center in Korea. Let’s not forget to taste a bowl of cold water fish at Mukho and touring Mukho Lighthouse and Nongoldam-gil.
