Autumn contemplation enjoyed in a cozy bookstore, a small bookstore in Wonju

The bookstore in Wonju is cozy. I opened the door quietly in the back of the alley in the mountain valley. Upon entering the small bookstore, you will be greeted with warm books, a cup of coffee, and a faded wooden table. ‘Teodeukgol Book Shop’ in Heungeop-myeon is a bookstore set up in the mountains by a publishing planner and a former children’s story writer. Here, a book stay and a cup of tea break are included, and a small forest camp is also held. It has a variety of books and children’s books on the theme of mind and life, and the artist’s touch adds to the taste. ‘Small Good Thing’ on the board side aims for a small but meaningful space. The name of the bookstore comes from a short story by Raymond Carver. The bookstore has a small yard, and the inside of the book cafe is antique and pretty. There are more than 1,000 books, and small classes such as drawing and writing are also conducted. More than 95% of the books in the ‘bookstore tueum’ near Wonju Station are independent publications. The café was renovated and opened last January as a bookstore specializing in independent books. On the last Friday of every month, there is a late-night bookstore with themes such as books and humanities. A trip to Wonju’s bookstore is tasteful when accompanied by Park Gyeong-ri Literature Park with a cozy promenade, a small gallery, and Bangok Station, which preserves modern history. Museum Mountain, which has become an art and tourist attraction, and Wonju Sogeumsan Suspension Bridge also have a good autumn atmosphere.
