One hour drive from Seoul. Songam Space Center, located at the foot of Mt. Keimyung in Yangju-si, Gyeonggi-do, is an ‘astronomical theme park’ equipped with an astronomical observatory for observing the stars, a space center for education, a cable car with a spectacular view, hotel-level accommodations, and restaurants. The walking course that winds around the hillside and the wide grass square are good for couples to walk and children to play. Songam Space Center is a ‘designated institution for on-site experiential learning by the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education’ with various programs ranging from a one-day astronomy class to an English space science camp. Jangheung-myeon, Yangju-si, has many travel destinations worth visiting with family, couples, or alone. Yangju Chang Ucchin Museum of Art is a place where you can see the works of Jang Uccin, a representative of modern and contemporary art in Korea. Jangheung Station and Gana Art Park, which are loved as romantic date courses, and Jangheung Native Arboretum, which is great for taking a break in nature, are also worth stopping by.
