There is a unique mural alley in Yeoju Hangeul Market in Gyeonggi-do. It depicts the birth of King Sejong, his accession to the throne, and his achievements in a fun way. Looking at the charming murals, we trace the life and achievements of King Sejong the Great. There is also a mural of memories of games such as driving piles, making it a good place to talk with family. There is also a living culture exhibition hall, ‘Yeojuduji’, in the alley. It is a space where stories heard from Yeoju residents and collected objects are displayed, and you can meet small but warm stories. Yeoju Hangeul Market has a statue of King Sejong the Younger and a statue of King Sejong the Great who looks benevolent, making it a popular photo spot. Hangeul bread is sold near the photo zone. It is sweet and chewy glutinous rice bread with consonants stamped on it. Another fun in the market is discovering Hangeul. Hunminjeongeum was engraved on the floor, and colorful Korean works were hung in the sky. At night, the Luce Vista lighting facility lights up, making it different. Yeoju Yeongneung (Historic Site No. 195), where King Hyojong the Great, who attempted to reform the northern invasion, slept, and Yeojubo, where the scenery of the Namhan River was peaceful, are also nearby. Sejong Square is unique, with beams inspired by Jagyeongnu, a water clock, and Angbuilgu, a sundial. Silleuksa Temple has many treasures, such as a multi-story stone pagoda (Treasure No. 225) and a multi-story brick pagoda (Treasure No. 226), and the atmosphere of the Namhangang River seen from the temple is profound, making it the perfect place to end your trip.
