A trip to find the traces of the 120th anniversary of the opening of Incheon Port
- Local people
- Whole area of Jung-gu, Incheon
The exploration of modern cultural sites in Incheon is also a trip to find the first. In particular, in Jung-gu, located in the heart of Incheon, there are far more original things left than we know. Naeri Church, located in Nae-dong, Jung-gu, is the first Methodist church in Korea, and the first Western-style park in Korea is Freedom Park, located at the foot of Mount Eungbong in Songhak-dong, Jung-gu. Although not the first in Korea, Incheon’s first Catholic church can also be found in Dap-dong, Jung-gu. In addition, the Gyeongin Line, which ran between Incheon and Noryangjin, was the first railroad in Korea, and Jajangmyeon, which is enjoyed by men and women of all ages, was first made in Chinatown, which spans Seonrin-dong and Bukseong-dong, Jung-gu. Of course, not only the first ones are meaningful. Jemulpo Club, Japan Bank Street, which was a social gathering place for Westerners from the United States, Britain, and Germany, and Chinatown, the first thing that comes to mind when thinking of Incheon, are must-see sights.
