There is a special neighborhood bookstore in Suseong-gu, Daegu. The spinning wheel bookstore is there. From the outside, it looks like a used bookstore, but once inside, it is a complex cultural space where various cultural events are held. Just like the name ‘Rolling Wheel’, which means circulation and coexistence, numerous books come and go in the Spinning Wheel Bookstore. As you slowly walk through the bookshelves, you can feel the little romance of secondhand bookstores. Bookkeepers do not sell books that are especially cherished to share with customers. The bookshelves with the works of Daegu writers are also special. The spinning wheel bookstore is open from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm, but there are not a few days when the lights are lit in the evening. This is because various cultural events are held every month, such as movie screenings, concerts, and meetings with authors. In Suseong-gu, where the spinning wheel bookstore is located, there is Suseongmot Lake, which is famous as a date course. This place, which is quiet on weekdays, transforms into an exciting busking spot on weekends, and Sanghwa Garden and Poetry Street have been created to honor poet Lee Sang-hwa, who wrote “Does spring come in stolen fields?” At Deulangil Food Town in front of Suseongmot Lake, you can taste the representative food of Daegu. If you visit the Daegu Art Museum located under Daedeoksan Mountain, the newly renovated Gomo Platform 208, and the magnificent Yeongnam Jeilgwan, a rich autumn trip with culture is complete.
