Yi Hwang praised Kim Goeng-pil, saying, ‘The Tao of Confucius has come to the east’. This is why the name of the seowon honoring Kim Goeng-pil of Han Hwon-dang became ‘Do-dong’. There is Dodong Seowon (Historic Site No. 488) in Dalseong, one of the five major Seowons in Korea, with a clear view of the Nakdonggang River. This is the place where Kim Goeng-pil, the oldest of the 5 prefectures of the East, is enshrined. The ginkgo tree standing in front of the seowon conveys the history of 400 years. It is a misunderstanding to think that a vow will be hard and authoritative. Passing through the ginkgo tree, which is the gatekeeper, and entering Suwolru, a small yet delicate space unfolds like magic. The stairs that you can barely climb after finishing the hem of the coat and the door that you have to bow your head to enter are simple and lovely. A cute squirrel also appears in the rules of moving in and out. Standing in front of the stylobate with 12 stones connected like a patchwork, your heart stops. If you look at each device hidden like a treasure in a boring lecture space, you can see the deep heart of the ancestors before you know it. Hanwondang Old House, located not far away, is famous for its pretty hanok cafe. Traditional tea and organic coffee enjoyed at high-quality Goga are special. The Nampyeong Mun Family Residence (Daegu Folk Cultural Heritage No. 3), a Hanok village in the city center, has an alleyway that is coveted by photographers nationwide. Standing at the Hwawondongsan observatory, the scenery where the Nakdonggang River and the Geumhogang River meet is dazzling, and Hamokjeong Pavilion (Daegu Tangible Cultural Property No. 36), which has emerged as a popular SNS photo spot, is the season when the crape myrtle flowers are dazzling.
