In Hwacheon, Gangwon-do, there is the Hwacheon Jogyeongcheol Observatory in memory of Dr. Cho Gyeong-cheol (1929-2010), the ‘Dr. The Hwacheon Landscaping Observatory, located on Mt. Gwangdeok, offers the best conditions for gazing at the night sky, so you can see the unexplored landscape where the stars are pouring down. In particular, at the astronomical observatory, the ‘Star Counting Night’ program, which starts at 8 pm every night and the ‘Late Night Observation’ program, which starts at 11 pm and observes the stars all night, is a starlight trip that thrills people’s hearts. In addition to this, there are a star photography school where you can learn observation techniques and various practical courses for teenagers. Gwangdeok Valley, which originates from Mt. Gwangdeok, has clean water and is great for playing in the water as there are many lodging facilities around it, and Gokun Gugok is famous for the fairyland cherished by scholar Kim Soo-jeung of the Joseon Dynasty. After passing through the Haesan Tunnel, you will see the Peace Dam, Bimok Park, and the World Peace Bell. There is a Paro Lake Security Exhibition Hall in Paro Lake, which was created during the construction of the Hwacheon Dam, and the Mulbit Nuri ferry runs to the Peace Dam.
