Home is a longing for everyone. When October, the season of harvest, comes, yearning ripens like ears of rice in the field. The salmon’s instinct to return to Namdaecheon through the rough waves and against the strong current is hotter than any longing. When the reed forest of Namdaecheon stream turns silver and salmon that have returned to their mother river start spawning, the Namdaecheon area turns red with autumn leaves and the Yangyang Salmon Festival (October 18-21, 2018). This fall, the hot spot is Yangyang. The Osan-ri Prehistoric Museum is a time machine to the prehistoric era. It is fun to look at the ruins of Yangyang from the Paleolithic Age in Dohwa-ri 700,000 years ago to the Neolithic and Iron Ages. From Songi Valley Natural Recreation Forest, where you can enjoy clean nature and leisure sports, take a thrilling zip line and monorail, and run to Jukdo Beach, which has emerged as a mecca for surfing.
