- Gwanhun-dong ~ Insa-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul
Located close to Gyeongbokgung Palace and Changdeokgung Palace, the palaces of the Joseon Dynasty, Insa-dong is a representative cultural tourist destination in Seoul. It is a place where you can evenly meet antiques and modern works, as if continuing the pulse of Dohwaseo in the Joseon Dynasty. The colors and dexterity of our ancestors can be found not only in paintings but also in various places. On an auspicious day, beautiful rice cakes in five colors are served on the table without fail, an elaborate skein of honey that is said to have been made in hopes of the king’s health and longevity, gangjeong made quickly by mixing five grains with taffy, local honey collected deep in the mountains and enzyme tea, etc. It is contained in our foods that are good for our health. The wit of Korean people can be found in poop bread and strawberry bread, which resemble Taiyaki, the representative of modern jujeonburi. Mokin Museum & Gallery and Gyeongin Museum of Art, where you can enjoy a cup of tea, are also worth stopping by.
