Changdeokgung Palace and Jongmyo have two things in common. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is a place cherished by the kings of Joseon. Changdeokgung is a palace where kings have lived for a long time than Gyeongbokgung. Injeongjeon, which became the stage for official events of the country, overflows with grandeur. Each building has an interesting story, including Daejojeon, the living space of royal women, Seonjeongjeon, where the king worked, Seongjeonggak, where the crown prince studied, and Nakseonjae, where the last royal family of Joseon lived. Changdeokgung Palace Huwon, where you can enjoy art in nature, is also not to be missed. Jongmyo is a royal shrine where the spirit tablets of successive kings and queens of the Joseon Dynasty and Chujon kings and queens are enshrined. Centered around the world’s longest single building, Yeongnyeongjeon and Jaegung, all of Jongmyo’s buildings exude a majestic style. It is also a good idea to plan your itinerary with science, culture, and artistic attractions such as the Seoul National Science Museum, National Folk Museum of Korea, and the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Seoul. The Gwangjang Market in front of Jongmyo Shrine, where there are many delicious foods, will be a pleasant end to your trip.
