You don’t have to go deep into the mountains to explore the caves. Donghae Cheongok Golden Bat Cave is the only natural cave in the city in Korea. An apartment complex has been built next to the limestone cave, and it is an unfamiliar landscape where city buses come and go frequently. The Cheongok Golden Bat Cave was first discovered in 1991 during apartment construction. The total length is 1510m, and 810m is open to viewing. It is known that golden bats live in Cheongok Golden Bat Cave. The golden bat (red bat) is a rare wild animal designated as a first-class endangered species and a natural monument. The cave with water dripping from the ceiling is an ongoing cave in which limestone is being eroded. Stalagmites rising from the floor, large stalactites hanging from the ceiling, and stone pillars connected with stalagmites and stalactites appear constantly, leading to an exciting tour of the cave. Yongsikgu, which forms a curve in the ceiling, boasts the largest scale among domestic caves. At the back of the cave, a Doline trail that keeps the secret of the formation of the cave has been created. When traveling to the East Sea, it is good to visit Nongoldam-gil, which contains the story of the old Mukho Port in the mural alley, Daejin Beach, which is loved as a new surfing point, and Mureung Rock and Ssang Falls, which preserve the superb view of Mureung Valley.
