Deokpojin Museum of Education, which opened in Gimpo in 1996, is a place that reminds you of childhood and school days. About 7,000 exhibits show the life of the past as it is, and objects that have remained only in memory allow you to travel back in time to the past. In particular, the classes conducted by directors Kim Dong-sun and Lee In-sook are a precious time that cannot be met anywhere else. Director Lee In-sook’s nursery rhymes sung to the organ music and director Kim Dong-seon’s school days in the 1950s and 1960s are both familiar and new to young and old. The anecdote of the two directors who founded the Deokpojin Museum of Education is a beautiful love story and a beautiful story that moves the hearts of listeners. Gimpo Deokpojin (Historic Site No. 292), which is adjacent to the museum, is a camp during the Joseon Dynasty where fierce battles took place during Byeonginyangyo and Shinmiyangyo. Gimpo Jangneung (Historic Site No. 202), where King Injo’s father Wonjong and his mother, Queen Inheon, slept, the old Gimpo Cathedral (National Registered Cultural Property No. 542) and Gimpo Catholic Church with a beautiful pine forest, and Gimpo Art Village, a good place to spend quality time with your family. A place you must visit on your travels.
