The National Daegwanryeong Healing Forest is a forest welfare facility operated by the Korea Forest Welfare Promotion Agency under the Korea Forest Service. The Geumgang Pine Forest, which was created by scattering seeds on the mountain in the 1920s, is spectacular. In the dense forest, there are 8 forest trails (including the Healing Deck Road) with different characteristics and difficulty levels. The most comfortable and easiest course is to walk along the ‘Pine Fragrance Healing Forest Road’ (1.1km) with a shelter and meditation space and the ‘Healing Deck Road’ (600m) with a wooden deck. It feels like taking a walk among the coolly stretched pine trees and resting in the shade provided by the dense forest. If you make a reservation, you can also experience a customized forest healing program with a forest healing instructor. Every Saturday night until the end of September, the program ‘Daegwallyeong Forest, Starry Night’, where you can feel the cool sound, scent, and wind of the forest with all five senses (experience fee 10,000 won, reservation required), continues. Daegwallyeong Natural Recreation Forest, Korea’s No. 1 natural recreation forest, and Daegwallyeong Old Road, popular as a walking trail, are close by. Along with SNS hot places such as Gangmun Beach, Sungeut Beach, and Sacheon Beach, Heonhwa-ro, which is considered the best drive course on the East Coast, and Haslla Art World, a complex cultural space, are also toured.
