Goryeosan, which is considered one of the six mountains in Ganghwa-do, is a popular spot visited by many young people every year. Colonies of rhododendrons are formed on highlands over 400m along the northern ridge, and the whole mountain turns into a deep pink color in spring. When the pink waves follow the wind, the heart is also colored with the light of a beautiful flower. From April 12 to 26, the Goryeosan Azalea Festival is held. After viewing the flowers, let’s relieve the fatigue of hiking with webfoot octopus yeonpotang and seasoned bandaengi hoe. In season, the plump webfoot octopus will quench your appetite. If you are with children, stop by the Ganghwa History Museum and the Natural History Museum. The Dolton Tomb in Bugun-ri, Ganghwa (Historic Site No. 137), designated as a World Heritage Site, is also close by. The Ganghwa Story Tour, where you ride an electric bicycle with a guide and explore the Goryeo Palace Village, is also interesting. The Ganghwa Peace Observatory overlooking the northern land is also worth a visit.
