The Busan Lotus Lantern Festival is an event that inherits the Yeondeunghoe designated as a national intangible cultural property and a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity in the Busan region. Yeondeunghoe is a cultural event unique to Korea that has been going on for over 1,300 years. It is a festival to light the lanterns of hope for harmony and prosperity in our society in celebration of Buddha’s birthday.
