At the end of Gadeokdo Island in Busan, there is Gadeokdo Lighthouse, which has been around for over 100 years. Gadeokdo Lighthouse, which was first lit in December 1909, served as a light of hope for ships passing through nearby waters until a new lighthouse was built in 2002. At the entrance of the lighthouse, which has a one-story structure and an elegant exterior, a plum blossom pattern symbolizing the royal family of the Korean Empire is engraved. The lighthouse building has high historical and architectural value, and in 2003, it was designated as Tangible Cultural Property No. 50 by Busan Metropolitan City. There is a 100th anniversary memorial hall at the bottom of the lighthouse, so you can experience lighthouse accommodation and visit the lighthouse memorial hall. If you follow the single road from Gadeokdo Lighthouse, you will reach Oeyangpo Village, where time seems to have stopped. During the Japanese colonial era, the entire village was used as a military base, and traces of history remain intact. When you stop by Busan, let’s take a walk on the Gureum Promenade, which opened last June and quickly emerged as a landmark of Songdo Beach.
